18TH CENTURY MARIE ANTOINETTE BAROQUE STYLE DRESS/GOWN

Stunning Marie Antoinette / Baroque style dress / gown, handmade by CORNUCOPIA COSTUME .

This dress will be made to fit the buyer after purchase and can be made in any size from size 8-18. Please allow up to two weeks for delivery. Due to the laced fastening and the fixed modesty panel at the back the dress will open up to slightly larger than the size it is to fit. If this dress is not your size we can custom make one and list it specially for you. The length of the skirt from waist to hem is approx 45", but will be shortened to fit the buyer if needed at no extra cost.

The main part of the dress is made from a heavy deep red/burgundy crepe satin fabric, which has a lovely sheen and the bodice inset and flared sleeve cuffs are made from a gorgeous two tone red taffeta with a leaf design embroidered in gold and red. The front bodice is decorated with red satin ribbon and white gathered lace. The panniers are also edged with white gathered lace. The flared sleeve cuffs are lined with the same taffeta as the main part of the dress and are also trimmed with black gathered lace. The top edge of the cuff is adorned with beatiful blackgimp braid.

The dress has a laced fastening,red cord is passed through 26 gold coloured metal eyelets and the ends of the cord are crimped with gold coloured metal aglets to give a neat finish. The centre back is boned,giving a better finish when laced. A modesty panel has been fitted behind the eyelets so that only blue fabric will show through the lacing.

The dress /gown is shown displayed over a hooped petticoat to give added fullness, this is not included in the sale, but could be worn also be without. Hooped petticoats are available separately in our shop.
